Up Close and Personal with Dep of BCS

How would you describe yourself?
I would say it’s hard to describe me in one sentence, but if I had to I'm a hard working dude and obsessed with success it’s all I think about all day every day.

Who do you look up to? In life and in your career.
In life, I look up to my mom and dad. The sacrifices they have made me and my siblings still amaze me. They are the best parents in the world. In my career, I look up to DMX and Russell Simmons. DMX for all the passion he had in his music, it’s the same passion I try to put in my songs. Russell Simmons for the fact he is "hip hop". No matter what era, he always stays relevant and still collecting checks. Lol

What are your three strongest qualities? Three weakest?
My three strongest qualities would be my work ethic, the fact that I always want to be perfect, and my ear for music.

My three weakest qualities would be that I can never say no to a new project, I'm always trying to take on the world, but besides I'm think I'm pretty much perfect. Lol

 What's the meaning behind BCS?
BCS stands for Black Cornerstones. It’s made up of young, black, talented individuals that are striving to be the best at craft. We don't answer to anyone. We are not obligated to answer to anyone, because we are bosses.

• How is your style different from other rappers in the game?
I think my style is different because I'm versatile. I can make so many different types of records. My mixtape (The First Installment, available on Datpiff.com) include songs you can party to, songs for the ladies, and songs where u can just chill roll up a joint, pour yourself a drink and just chill.

• Outside of your career, what goals have you set for yourself?
Beside my career I just want to be able to provide for my family and not let the people down who believe in me.

• What made you decided to enter the rap industry?
I have always been a fan of you music, its runs in my family. At the age of 6, I was playing the drums. I always knew music would be a part of my life. From age of 13, I have always dreamed of performing in front of a sold out crowd with 150,000 people singing my songs, which is why I entered the rap industry.

• What is success to you?
Success to me is having a dream, and waking up every day to pursue it. Nowadays hardly anyone knows what they really want to with their life, so when u find something you love and enjoy doing; life doesn't get any better.

• I know you're a busy man so how do you fill free time?
In my free time pour myself a glass of Johnnie walker and listen to my favorite songs.
